No disrespect intended, but since when did we start having a separate memorial day for peace officers?  I notice from the link posted that other states have their own peace officer memorial days.  I always assumed there was one Memorial Day.

Most families use it as a day to memorialize the non-military members of their families as well.

Like Kwanzaa, it's a self-serving holiday for those entitled.  Might be different if they wore seat belts.

Until you have experienced the loss of a friend, an officer, and someone doing their job, and attended their funeral, don't speak.

QuoteNo seat belts in 42% of fatal police car crashes
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-01-04-1Acopdeaths04_ST_N.htm

The study comes less than a week after a separate report found that fatal traffic incidents in 2010 were the leading cause of officer deaths for the 13th straight year.

State law excludes police from having to wear seat belts.  Removing that exclusion would immediately save lives.
