So after looking for old drive in theaters, I thought I would put together a list from the 1967 photos and Google maps of now.

The broken arrow theater is basically still there.

When we ended up building our house we looked at a house that backed up to the theater lot. The main reason we turned that house down was not knowing what would be built there.
That was 14 years ago.
I saw the first Indiana Jones movie with my kids at the 51 back in the 80's. It was the cheapest admission in town and loads of fun to sit on the tailgate of the station wagon while the kids played. The Capri is now a Co-Parts insurance salvage lot. Always loved its 50's script.
I remember the whole closing down the 51 Drive In because of the housing development, and thought the owners had mentioned reopening somewhere else. I thought that it was going to be bulldozed and houses built on the land.
This one is west of Sapulpa along old Route 66:

Doesn't look much different than when I saw Beyond Thunderdome in the mid 80's. It was on it's last leg then.
What was the name of the theater at 71st & Quincy. I vaguely remember it being there.
After talking with some people and perusing tulsatvmemories.com, the one referred to in the aerial photo as the Riverside Drive In was actually the Bellaire. The one on 71st and Quincy I think was called the Riverside.
I'm continuing to look at them however.
And here's a page from that site...all the work done for you. :)

Bel-Aire that was the one across from the Pepsi plant. The one at 71st & Quincy I never went to, and the one at 45th & Sheridan I don't remember, it may have been gone by the time I remember the others.
Here is the photo of the 45th & Sheridan area where the drive in was in 1967. To the north is Telex, and Geophysical Research.

Oh wow. That was Tink's Auto Mall then later Sam's Club. Chuck Naimann Buick was the lower half of that lot.
When did Sam's open? I'm thinking it was 1985.
The Beryl Ford collection at TCCL has a few photos of drive in theaters. None are aerial views:

Beryl Ford once told me that he used to fly his plane low over the Admiral Twin to buzz his friends watching movies below him. He was a earthy, funny man you'd never expect had such a huge collection.

The Riverside
This is intresting. I grew up in Michigan and we had many drive-in theaters when I was a tot, seems we even had a Bel-Aire too, there was a big theater on Gratiot Ave and one on 8-mile road, The only one that I know is still around today is the Ford drive-in over in Dearborn, MI.... I believe there was even a 4-plex drive-in some where in the Detroit area at one time... As far as I know most drive-in's in the Detroit area are gone.

Well actually when someone says "Detroit" they really mean the suburbs. The Detroit suburbs are not bad that's where the city functions now. The city of Detroit proper is dead and dangerous not a good or safe place to even drive thru. The suburbs are thriving today the home values are even starting to creep up.

I always wondered why that salvage yard had such a long driveway
