Title: Evans-Fintube
Post by: sgrizzle on November 11, 2013, 12:59:05 PM
The plans for this 22acre site, which is just outside of downtown, next to OSU-Tulsa, and on the proposed passenger rail site was to turn it into an urban mixed-use/residential development.

Apparently Dewey's plan is to turn it into surplus and sell it off at auction.

Would you prefer the city develop the site, or the Snyders?
The city should zone the land & sell it.

At the time of the Downtown master plan, the idea was to clean it and do a long-term ground lease to a developer like the Snyders. The ground lease could then be used to pay for the passenger train.

Wonder if there is room to put an NFL franchise stadium there?

There is such a site in SLC that the city is leasing to developers along one of it's new rail lines.  The leasing and taxes collected paid for the new station and transit to it and have actually turned a profit on top of that.

Too smart an idea for Tulsa I guess.

This is a great site, but the area on the other side (west) of OSU Tulsa is more attractive and easier to develop in my opinion.
