Because Blake needs to open yet another business while Archer Market has been sitting there for 2 years.

apparently this has nothing to do with the former fur shop @ 41st & Yale.

Because Blake should only open businesses that you approve of? Or, that you think are what is best for downtown?

Because it has to do with The Fur Shop in that location in the 90s.
Blake seems to be doing well with turnkey places. He opened Legends almost overnight and this place from the article is ready to go with just some interior design to address. Archer Market seems like more work and is a riskier business plan. With Greenarch opening soon that will be good for grocery business.

Greenarch has been open for a while.
Very cool.

Because with Archer Market and Back-Alley Blues, it
appears that Blake has too much on his plate as it is.

Opening a grocery store is a much larger undertaking than opening a bar. Especially when the bar is essentially a turnkey project. If he is able to reopen the Fur Shop and provide a visual link between it and Legends it will potentially open up that section of the Blue Dome and transition into the East End. Currently that area is very dark and vacant in the evenings.
I've not discussed the Archer Market issue with Blake directly, but I have had several people recently tell me the delay for Archer Market is not all on his group. Several issues (that affected the other tenant in that building as well) at play which are out of his control. I respect the fact that in spite of those obstacles he has continued to pursue the project and taken the PR hit when he could have blamed others. I doubt Blake needs or desires anyone putting that out there or sticking up for him, but I figured I'd throw the info out.

I know archer is close.

BTW, want to clarify the people I spoke with are not involved with Blake at all. They were speaking from the landlord side of the equation.

Not him, but he should run them by me.
Can we arrange one of those PETA protests for opening day?
Back when the Rogers brothers owned it, I mentioned going to The Fur Shop later that evening and my friend thought it was a euphemism for a whore house. :o

Used to have a bar down the street from me in St. Louis called The Fox Hole.
No one would buy me a drink there.
