I agree but some more than others. Which one did you go to?
Aren't tag agencies essentially privatized businesses whose functions are normally performed by state governments? See - privatization works! Now quityerbichn!

Tell me you have already de-funked, sanitized, and taken a shower by now. They creep me out. I think I'll just pay the premium for dealing with them over the interwebz anymore.

Went to three different offices to register recent car purchases (Bixby, Bixby Central, and Barnes) and lines backed out to the door. I STILL haven't been taken care of. Along with this state's stupid liquor laws, this is a sucky system.
I used to drive out to the one on Charles Page and 65th W. Ave.
There was never anyone there.
The one on 65th and Garnett always was good to me.
There is also one on West 21st almost out to Chandler Park that is never that busy.
Just got my dealer title today for my new car. So I'll be doing the same thing soon.

A more sucky system was Pennsylvania in 1971. I bought a car from a person (not a car dealer, etc). My choices for a tag were to mail the info to Harrisburg or pay a courier to take the stuff to Harrisburg. It took about a week to get a tag so I could drive it. Tags stayed with the owner, not the car like in OK. The previous owner let me drive the car home and then I had to take the tag back to them in a different, tagged, car. I parked it in a neighbor's driveway with the front of the car pointed to the street so it wasn't obvious that it wasn't tagged. However, the tag was inexpensive compared to when we moved to OK later that year.

No big surprise with that.
Anyone else remember when everybody's tag renewed in (I think) January. It was impossible to find anything less than an hour long line. Yuck!

You may have said earlier but I missed it. What did you get?

2013 Dodge Avenger R/T. Pretty much same as my last car, but more options and 5 years newer.

Looks nice. No reason to change brand/model if you liked your old one.

I did like it. I also took good enough care of the old one that I got a good trade value on it.

Thought of this bit after getting one for a family member.
Actually the tag/license system in Oklahoma is not bad, in some states you have very long waits. Here in Oklahoma I re-newed my tags in less than 10 minutes at the tag agency on Admiral.
Just left the Southside Tag Office on Lewis. Much better overall experience. Barnes' tag especially sucks. I recommend avoiding it.
Never a wait downtown.

Or online
Unless the online site decides it cant figure out your insurance information.
The online site isnt capable of any sort of troubleshooting, it either works one way or doesnt.

I've never had any trouble with it. I order from Southside where Guido went and am always surprised how fast they get the stickers out.
edit: maybe not always surprised...that'd seem stupid by now. I was surprised the first time. I think by the 6th or seventh, whatever this last one was, I was pleased.
There is one at 81st and Elm in BA that usually is ok. Norman has one that is good, too, at I-35 and Robinson if you are ever stuck in Norman needing a tag.... if that happens - condolences!!

Went today. In and out in less than two minutes.
Went to the one on Admiral shortly after 8 am. 10 minutes for me (but I had to wait on the whole paperwork for T T & L). Not bad.

And they are friendly. I took care of tag, new DL and some notary needs in less than ten minutes. It was a pleasure.
Do not go to the one on Harvard. Just sayin.

81st and Elm is fine but on Saturday morning forget it. They are the only one open and by the line out the door, you can tell.
My tag was due in June. I have mailed in my renewal before and had no problem. This time was totally different. I sent it off the first week of May. And by the second week of June I still had not gotten my new sticker.
I called the Oklahoma City Tag agency and was told that they had changed their way of processing and that my tag had not been reviewed yet. I received it 3 days before the end of June. I'll be walking in to the tag agency from now on.

BA on Saturday - yep, ya gotta be there before 9:00am. Weekday evenings are usually pretty good...or just about any time during weekday, except lunch.
Driving in from Norman tonight and exiting at Yale, I see Suck Burger has a spot on the SW corner- I still don't see the draw. Keo was packed tonight and apparently is doing very well on the NE corner.

We call them SaltBurger because I have never had a slab of ground mystery meat with so much salt in it before!

I don't know where they are getting the salt from. I ingested all the salt in the world at a McDonalds on Maui in 2004.
