Title: Tulsa World deploys new web site

Looks a lot cleaner...I like it.  (The design, not necessarily the paper itself).

That does look better.

Now if they can do something with the iPad app, it's really terrible. Crashes most times I try to launch it and that's how I usually read the paper anymore.

They are allegedly using something on the website now called responsive design.  I am somewhat familiar with this as my company is migrating to using this for their publication websites.

You have to allow a lot more Javascript for "browser sniffing" and other toys to work.

There's enough things running in the background to raise some security flags, as well.

There's a bigger security flag than then use of Java?

This is called "DoNotTrackMe"

I have to have JS and other stuff enabled at work.  However, I use this at home.  Plugins for both Firefox and Chrome.  Because if you use IE you're just, well, not very security conscious..

Tulsa World articles that come up in a search on Google go to "Page not found".  So, I'm guessing any old links to TW articles on the forum will do the same.

Which is bad practice and bad for site stats and ads.  I guess they haven't learned about redirects yet.  My current boss used to be in their web department if I remember correctly.

I posted the same comment on their FB page and they just replied that this issue was fixed. And, amazingly enough, it is.

It's the same format the Daily Oklahoman has had for a while.

Seems very odd.

I interpreted it to mean the website has converted into the new owner's hands. New ads will be handled across BH properties.
