Title: Shoes for Industry!
Post by: Ed W on March 02, 2013, 09:58:08 PM
My big, fat feet are in need of new shoes.  The old work boots look fine, but I discovered a crack in one sole while walking in the park after the rain this week.  I hate that squish, squish, squish inside my boots!

At 220 pounds or so, running shoes are out.  I need support, and I need a wide width - like a 13E - or my left foot develops painful corns.  Military combat boots fit well, but SWMBO'd isn't fond of them.  I need something like a light hiking boot, an approach shoe, or a sturdy trail shoe.

Any ideas where to find a good selection for those hard-to-fit flippers at the ends of my legs?

I wear fashionable shoes. The ones I am wearing now are from the Herman Munster collection.

What makes this hard is my relatively narrow heel and wide toes, Michael.  I had some Fabiano hiking boots long, long ago that fit very well and I wore them until the uppers came away from the soles.  I had some Nike approach shoes - kind of like a light hiking boot with very stiff soles - but the paramedics destroyed them by cutting them away after a car crash.  My current work boots were a fortuitous find as they're wide enough to be comfortable.

Unlike Number One Daughter, I hate shoe shopping.

I think my brother mentioned something favorable about redwing...   And they just opened a store locally.

You want Ecco shoes.
