Title: Tailor recommendation?
Post by: PonderInc on January 01, 2013, 04:00:39 PM
OK, so now that Tino Tudisco is closed, I need a recommendation.

Does anyone have a favorite tailor / alterations place in town?

I want to get my father's vintage cashmere overcoat altered to fit me.  Mostly, that means taking in the shoulders and the waist, since he was about my height.  It's an exquisite coat in perfect condition, and I don't want anyone to botch the job.

Any thoughts?

Hi ponder. Long time no see.

I can use a glue gun and velcro, if that helps any.

I've used Thu's at the Farm for about 8 years.  He's altered many suit coats in just the fashion you've described.  Never had one issue.  I've referred him multiple men for similar tailoring only heard great reviews.

I can't recall her name, but there is another tailor downtown that has done work for Brenners, the men's wear shop in the Philtower, for years.  I've heard rave reviews about her work.

Mee's @ 91st & Sheridan has done excellent work for me.  They are very fast and cheap too.  Conveniently located right next door to Patrick's Bar & Grill.
