Title: Embassy attacks last ten years
Post by: RecycleMichael on November 19, 2012, 12:54:04 PM
2002 U.S. Consulate attacked in Karachi, Pakistan 10 killed
2004 U.S. Embassy bombed in Uzbekistan 2 killed and 9 injured
2004 Gunmen storm U.S. Consulate in Saudi Arabia 8 killed
2006 Armed men attack U.S. Embassy in Syria 1 killed
2009 Rioters set fire to U.S. Embassy in Serbia
2008 Bombinings at U.S. Embassy in Yemen 10 killed
2012 U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Lybia attacked 4 killed.

We clearly need to do a better job in protecting our Embassies and Consulates.

But I also wonder why there wasn't outrage about this until now. Six attacks under President Bush and I don't remember the demands for investigations by Congress. Do you think this is all political?

How many were blamed on an internet video?

How many involved providing a US ambassador with false intelligence, then shuffling her off to every media outlet to make sure that the administration could delay treating it as a terrorist attack so that the president wouldn't be expected to cancel a major fundraiser that evening?  If I were Susan Rice, I'd be pi$$ed, but now of course, it seems like there was a deal in the works.  :-\

Really?

All this was some elaborate plan by Obama to fake news so he could go to a party?

You need to work in Hollywood.

Gaspar, it's funny how every time your complaints about the handling of the situation are proven to be bunkum you just make something else up to complain about. Isn't it time to move on to another supposed scandal?

That's the only reason anyone can think of, unless there is something far more insidious behind it.

So everyone met with you and that's the finding?  It's the only reason anyone can think of.

That's it.  That is all.

Well fellas, it's time to shut 'er down.  Gaspar's got it all handled.  Please meet with everyone again and fix the rest of the messes.

We're all counting on you.

There were no congressional hearings on the Iraq war, yet we were told by the president there were weapons of mass destruction there. It proved to be a lie or a mistake by intelligence forces.

Why did we not have a hearing then and we do now?

Donno?  Perhaps because they would have also had to have President Clinton testify?  ;)

Clinto and Bush believed the intelligence and that is OK. But if Obama believed the intelligence it is not.

Got it.

It's been interesting watching the right implode on itself a little.  Wait...it's been 'entertaining' actually.

There were.

And on top of that, Congress authorized the war, far different than Libya. And in all fairness, Hussein claimed he had them and has historically shown a willingness to use weapons, on his own people for that matter.

These two events are worlds apart different.

Some findings that congress prepared regarding WMD's:

Out of town. I don't have all those newfangled electronic devices. My phone barely makes phone calls for that matter.

Look who is driving this: McCaine and Graham. This is all about helping the republican party regain its footing on foreign affairs.

They'd be so drunk it'd take them years to figure out how to build their ten commandments monument.  By then, they'd forget why they were stuck on a very big beach and be very confused why the Mexicans don't understand "Donde mas cervesa?".
