Title: Bridge vs vehicle
Post by: BKDotCom on October 22, 2012, 06:48:29 PM
They've started work/deconstruction on the i244 bridge that was whacked by the raised dumpster truck.... big tangled mess of rebar.

gives the repair and estimate at $450,000.  I'm surprised it's that low.

Low enough that commercial insurance will cover it at least.

I was curious who was going to end up paying for that.

It would be nice if they opened up the 7th St exit.
They had the exit open when they were doing the west-leg construction.
I'm sure they just don't want to mess with the signage required

I thought this might go down as one of the most expensive single-vehicle (non-fatality) accidents ever.
But at only $450,000... Smithy Environmental Services (and their insurance company) got a lucky break.
Not much worse than driving through a field and engulfing a Jenks home in fire.

I nearly posted yesterday that it appeared they were putting the wraps on the bridge repairs..
Well, this afternoon they were taking down the barricades and barrels.

244 is back open

One tough bridge for sure but there were quite a few wimpy vehicles too.
