Any guesses here?
I would think he lied on his resume or he hid something that has surfaced that is not pretty.
When I opened the paper this morning and saw he was taking a leave of absence to tend to his ailing parent I thought "what's not here."
I don't think he got fired for going to help his Father.
TU should have vetted him better. Chose to fix the mistake now rather than let it fester.
Somebody pee'd in Utica Square perhaps?
It is a matter of TU taking a black eye now and saving a bigger problem in the future... if the info i have is correct. Lets call it an alleged lack of self control.
Sticking it out with Pee Wee Herman in Florida?

I just hope the horses are okay.
He pissed that promotion away pretty quickly.

Does he have to register, and move away from civilization?

That's what I was thinking. Getting fired may actually have been the better of the two possible outcomes, given our ridiculous laws on the subject.
I think I recall a story about how Mr. Orsack had moved into the dorms this summer. I wonder if his current situation stems from this time period?
Couldn't control his liquor behavior. Public indecency is serious business even for an over demanding employee. What a pisser cause for dismissal can be.
I think US has terminated any future music/Thursday gig. Don't think it's related.
Since no one will just come out and say it, I'm piecing together that he was caught peeing in public at Utica Square? That, by the way, is rarely considered a sex offense as someone indicated. That part is an urban legend. You basically have to be showing it off to a child while urinating for it to go down as a sex offense. I know plenty of people in college who were bused peeing in public. It was a ticket similar to a speeding ticket. Either way, it's not a big deal for most, but that is a pretty high profile position and probably justified firing, if that's the case.

Sad to hear it if it's true that Fifth Night is done. They've done that promotion for close to 20 years now haven't they?

The tenants hated it.
Besides, we're going to Brady for this stuff. More boozeries and places to pee.
Guthrie Green rocks!
Don't know the reason(s) why, and frankly I don't care. At a minimum, it's a PR disaster for TU in the short term and an incredibly unfortunate circumstance for Orsak and his family. Move forward and hopefully everyone lands on their feet.
From what I know Mr. Buck is an outstanding administrator and I would expect he would do well in a caretaker role. He was at TU throughout the Upham years and that should help during the transition to a new President. Stead did a great job and I hope the next President can continue to build on his successes, just I expected Orsak would.
Hosting parties for coeds, frequenting casinos, peeing in public, skipping your new-member orientation at Southern Hills and being quite demanding of your new staff are a great way to begin a new job as the face of a conservative, Midwestern private university!
He was at Flemings with TU muckety-mucks. Enjoyed a lovely meal and several bottles of wine. Got really drunk. Went out side and pissed in the bushes next to his car.
I don't have any information on whether he drove home or not, but the people he was dining with were not very impressed.

Very accurate....but you left out pressuring the school to buy the Skelly Mansion to live in. I bet the board will regret that one. Public indecency was just the straw that broke the camel's back....

I cant find the map of where sex offenders arent allowed to live, but my guess is Skelly Mansion is in there somewhere.
!Edited to add: To be fair, Fleming's rest rooms are not very clearly marked...
I thought Flemings was a family owned shoe store.

That's where the reject steaks and chops end up being used for shoe leather.
Maybe I should apply. I have a really strong bladder. Well except in the middle of the night. ::)

Great example why I can't be believed! Thanks truth teller!
And....
TU completes the circle by hiring....
...you guessed it....
...former President Steadman Upham. WTH?

I heard this morning that Mr. Upham said he would stay on for up to two years while TU searches for another president.
Hopefully they vet their next choice a little better...

Note to the search committee:
Don't hire anyone who acts like a Switzer era Gooner.
OK look. I'm only available Tuesday through Thursday but those are good days to be President. ;D
Offer it to Bubba. That should be enough to bring him back to TU.

TU is making the best of a bad situation. TU alumni mag arrived this week with photos and articles on the formerly new President and his family. Ouch!

Bubba, really? The Tarheels can keep him.
