I'm a firm believer in First Amendment rights, even when someone opens his mouth and toads jump out. Todd Akins, Ted Nugent, and Hank Williams Jr. have the right to speak their - admittedly small - minds out in public and everything. And the rest of us have the right to call them for being the tools, fools, and boobs that they are.
Hank's latest intellectual product:
The country singer took a political swing at President Barack Obama while performing for a crowd of 8,500 at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand Friday night.
After finishing the song, "We Don't Apologize For America," the audience started chanting "USA, USA..." According to the Des Moines Register, Williams then told the crowd, "We've got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!"

"Next patient if you please,
Bring in another victim of industrial disease."....Dire Straits
Or...in this case...another victim of Obama Derangement Syndrome.
I agree. He's a loudmouth alcoholic.
I think that anyone who gets their political direction from an entertainer, is a boob!
I respect his right to express himself, but he's embarrassing.
When the Dixie Chicks made their stupid statement about a sitting President, radio stations refused to play their records and had mass burnings of the music.
Of course, the stations that organized this were all part of Clear Channel Communications who at the time was owned by Bain Capital.
I wonder what the chance there will be a radio station protest for Hank Jr.?
Zero.

Does anyone even play his music anymore?
The Bain Capital/Clear Channel quip was weak, BTW.

Sounds like part of the pattern.

I like some of his old songs and I grew up with his father's music playing in the house.
He's an idiot. A leader of the folks who support Akin's and Sally Kern's extreme dumbassism.

More likely the self-appointed mayor/governor/President/monarch.
Todd Akins, Ted Nugent, and Hank Williams Jr are a FOX SPEWS trifecta.

Don't forget Toby Keith. Does that make it a quadrifecta?

I'll see your Toby Keith and raise you an Alec Baldwin.
I think when all this disrespect for POTUS Obama started in January of 2009, FOTD asked "why doesn't the GOP stop this before it gets out of hand?" Now, it's everywhere. And the GOP are Teapublicans today.
What goes around comes around....

Freedom of speech, it's a wonderful thing and a horrible thing. No one person or group has the right to censor another. . .oh yeah, except the government.

They certainly have the right to censor people who want to continue claiming to be associated with their group. In the sense that they can deny them membership in the group, not that they can prevent them from speaking if they choose to do so.

Freedom of association,
not freedom to be associated. ;)
I want to be a member of Southern Hills, but they keep denying me!

Want me to put in a good word for you with a couple people I know?
It's expensive, you know... Meadowbrook might be a better solution.

Probably the same reason the DNC let it get out of hand with Bush II.

Being a boob, then, is more a state of mind. Baldwin had a run-in with a flight crew too, if I remember right. The next step in this version of Kabuki theater is for him to enter rehab.

Baldwin should slide on this one, he was provoked by a team of paparazzi who went after his wife and child right after he had just returned from the trial of the person convicted of stalking him.
Now hank Jr.? Hes in a different category.
