Title: TNF Members
Post by: DolfanBob on August 03, 2012, 12:29:11 PM
Member! Why you think that I'd join this crummy snobatorium? Well this place sucks! That's right it sucks! The only reason I'm here is maybe I'll buy it! (Rodney)

Just a quick question to the Admin. How many registered members does TNF have? The only reason I ask is at any given time that I have looked to see who is online. There are probably 3 to 10 members and 65 guests.
My thought is. Why such a high troll population and not members to join in on what we are talking about?
Granted some of the "AHEM" members can come across a bit abrasive, but all in all I personally like hearing what you guys have to say and how you respond to even my ignorant and bad spelled questions.

And also. Why register if you never post? whats the point of that?

Some may think they have nothing to add but they are able to take away so much.

I really wish more would offer their thoughts, wisdom, humor.

We really need to encourage people to post their thoughts. If for no other reason than to dilute extremists like me.

A library is only as good as the number of books they have.

Cause we are definitely short on wisdom and humor.

We have a number of members of the media, and government that troll the forum as guests.  It's flattering that someone is interested in our bloviations, but every now and then I get an email from someone, and on a few occasions I've been blown away by who those people are.  I have a feeling that if we made the forum topics public but locked down the posts to members only, the membership would skyrocket.

I doubt there is a local reporter that doesn't peek in from time to time when researching a story, or to gain opinion.  We've built a wealth of data here, some good, some caustic.

I don't post that often, because apparently my job and life keep me more occupied than most on here!  :)  I do mean that as funny, but for me, I don't have the time to keep up with the flying posts.  I typically get online a few times a day and read quickly thru some appealing topics and post occassionally.  I hate to jump into a heated topic and then not be able to stay in and defend myself.  And for those who don't post, you would have to agree if you are reading some of discussions, it would be rather intimidating to try to offer something up.   Just my thoughts, I'm happy with it just like it is, but if you wanted some opinions as to why more people don't post, there's my two cents.  Now it's time to get to work!   ;D

Life by proxy. There are enough views from differing backgrounds on here as to represent most of the arguments or insights that could be made. Why jump in and risk your reputation when there are so many other passionate fools willing to do it for you?

Michael portrayed as an extremist might be spinning a bit.

Unless it's sauerkraut using a computer, then all you have are a bunch of useless pamphlets on ther best cars ever made by former Soviet Countries.
