I'm having a problem with Bob Costas.
When an American olympian wins a gold medal, and they happen to be black, Bob Costas feels compelled to constantly refer to them as African-American. He doesn't seem to do this with any of the Hispanic-American medalists, or the Irish-American medalists, or the Asian-American medalists.
Are we sharing the medals with Africa or something?
Can't we admire the beauty, hard work, and skill of our Olympians without involving race Bob? These are American medalists, and they come in all flavors. That's what's beautiful about it!
Even worse, at one point Bob referred to a European black medalists as "African-American." Stop looking at skin color Bob!
I'm concerned about Gabby Douglas' hair.
