Title: Free stuff on your birthday
Post by: RecycleMichael on July 30, 2012, 04:20:49 PM
Mine is tomorrow and I want to gather some freebies.

Who knows of places that give out free meals or drinks?

Happy Birthday.

As for your request?  I'm no help.

Denny's used to do a free meal for your birthday.  No idea if they still do that or not.  Of course it involves having to actually eat at Denny's.

Rib Crib gives you a choice of free desserts on your birthday, RM.  I got the hot fudge brownie sundae, and I actually had a couple bites before Number One Daughter polished it off.

One of my rules is to never attempt eating something bigger than my head.  This sundae was close, and Lyndsay never heard of my rule.

The Melting Pot gives you stuff if you're on their email list. It used to be free dessert fondue. It seems that last year it was a free box of chocolate covered strawberries. Dave & Buster's gives you $10 of free gameplay, again if you're on their email list. Cosmo sent me a coupon for a free Hershey's Cobbler. Last year's Best Buy offer was a triple reward zone points coupon. Hertz was 300 bonus points for any rental in your birthday month or the month after.

That's everything that's in my email.

I think Batman's at Pine and Mingo will give you a free meal.   Just present your driver's License.

That's not free.  You had to pay for that license!

;)

Not only did you pay for the license, you were inconvenienced by having to get it in the first place.  Obtaining the first issue of the license required learning how to drive, learning the rules of the road, taking both the written and practical tests, then periodic renewal including a trip to the Tag Agent. Batman's should be paying you to eat your "free" meal.   ;D

Thanks for the offer. My office throws a potluck meal together for me each year. They also decorate my office.

Hey C, not my birthday, but you can buy me lunch on Friday!  It's 'escape from my old crappy job of nine years' day on Friday.  I'm liberated to a new, more powerful one next Monday!  Well, maybe not more powerful, but you get the point.  Especially since my exit interview is at 9am, I don't expect to be around much longer after that.

Financially, yes.  To a more stable company, yes.  First time I've been excited about work again in five years or more.  Opportunities for advancement are more...well, 'robust' at this new company.

Another plus, this new company is a sole proprietorship.  Where I'm working now is owned by a private equity firm.

If I remember right, Batman's restaurant is closed.

And, since it's now the 31st.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL!!!!
