After having one of "those" appointments, is it customary to give a hug to the doctor?
Wait til he takes the glove off...then sure have a ball. ;D
I wouldn't. I think doctor's labratory white coats cause cancer in rats.

Depends on how much you enjoyed the appointment, I guess. Personal experience?
You could offer to take him out for dinner and a movie, if you like that sort of thing.

You are assuming the doctor was male. Okay. This doctor was male, but I have celebrated this special event with a female physician in the past. Oh, the memories...

Did it freak you when she had both hands on your shoulders?

Generalization alert:
Women doctors seem to pay better attention about medical issues/discussions than male.

I was concerned. What really got my going was the video cameras, skype, full balcony seating, and applause sign. The kiss on the cheek was a nice touch.

Yes. "In a relationship" now.

I agree. That's why I go to one.
Are you a little biased due to certain familial circumstances? (I have read somewhere on this place that your better half is one....)
My PCP for about 20 years was female and had trained under my Godfather and PCP for the first 20 years of my life. Her replacement also trained under him, so I've sort of had the same lineage of treatment since I was very little. Turns out my current one is also used to be an avid cyclist so he understands the disease ;)

Allergy doc was a cyclist. We went on some FreeWheels and rode together from time to time.

Not if you're a female patient.

I can see that... guess a male doctor would be better from that direction.
