Title: Elections Tuesday
Post by: sgrizzle on June 24, 2012, 06:49:07 PM
County Clerk, State Senators, State Representatives, Corporation Commissioner, Congress and a City Charter Change. Any favorites? Any predictions?

As opposed to a vacuum for Republicans?  You can fill an open space with something.  Not so easy to do with a vacuum.   8)

You are saying that a Democrat's open space has something there already, perhaps air.  To fill that space with something useful, like knowledge, would require displacing the air that's already there.

Vacuum? Really?  See Townsend's reply to me.

Durring the last election over at my polling place (Jenks East) there was a line at the Repub desk going out the door at 7am.  The guy behind the Dem desk kept yelling "Any democrats?" every time someone joined the line.  When I finally got up there I said "It's lonely at your desk" and he gave me a pinch-faced look and said "They just come in later."

Perhaps they're just not morning people?

Or perhaps the divisiveness has run so rampant in this state (at least) that they would rather wait so as not to be sneered at?  I know I have been during my time as a registered democrat.  Never deterred me, but it might some.  I'm also a little larger than many people, so most wouldn't say anything to me.

THIS shows exactly how "hijacked" the Republican party has become - Meghan McCain as a liberal in the media.  I guess.  I like her quite a bit - because, as she says about Hillary; she don't take s$$$ from anyone.

It's 10:30pm and the results are coming in slow (let's hear it for those new whiz bang voting machines).  With about 50% of the precincts reporting Bridenstine is pulling away from John Sullivan 54% to 46%.  It's looking like John Sullivan is going to have to become a lobbyist soon.   Now we will have to deal with the devil we don't know that ran to the right of John Sullivan as if that was possible.
