Title: Burlap?
Post by: Conan71 on April 18, 2012, 11:34:46 AM
Any ideas where I can pick up two or three used burlap bags for a garden project?

Weed underlayment for a small greens garden.  Figured it would serve to smother out any weeds but allow for root growth.

Go by the topeca roastery.  They have lots.

I found a 25' x 24" roll at Sutherland's in Jenks, I needed some bird seed and wooden stakes as well (vampire outbreak in Lortondale).  Last roll they had but good to know where to find it without driving to BFE.

Are you aware there is a Sutherland's on 21st between I-44 & 169?  A little closer to your MCM paradise and keeps those sales tax dollars in Tulsa.    ;)

But very inconvenient from my office which is off Hwy 75 & W. 41st.  ;) I was actually on my way to Atwood's in Sapulpa when I figured I'd see if Sutherlands had everything I needed.  Just thankful I didn't need to go to Crank County.

There is also a Tractor Supply Co on US 75 at about 161st South.  I've been there a couple of times.  They have a slightly different selection of stuff.

Nope, been gone a while.  Cannot remember what is in it's place now.  I only live about 1.5 miles from there.

Thanks. I used to go there years ago and buy large syringes for mixing chemicals in my dark room at my parents house (yes, insert the usual responses about what I was mixing, and yes I also had a scale with various weights for measuring dry chemicals as well, it was the late 70's, what's a high school student to do to make money?  ;) )

CoCo, try Double Shot...$5 a big bag.  They're kinda cool lookin' from noticing their authentic foreign label design. You could cut out all the various brands and use the remainder burlap for your garden.

Coco, don't support doubleshot, ever.  He's a homophobe, a complete jerk, and his coffee is over-roasted.  His clientele seems to consist in people that being abused makes a place more exclusive.

A homophobe that doesn't like bare breasts in his shop?  Inner-sting.

Didn't he get in a fight with some dude in his shop once?  Assault?

I remember hearing something.  Reminded me of the soup nazi.
