In the president's most recent speech to condemn the Republican's 4th budget proposal in 3 years, was the mention that people will starve, get raped, die in catastrophic and gruesome ways and the air would become poison. As you may expect, the speech was not geared towards the thinking public.
My favorite point the President made was that "Hundreds of National Parks would be forced to close for part or all of the year." As an avid outdoorsman I find that alarming for two reasons. First, our national park system is a large part of what makes this country great, and to threaten public access to the trees, rocks and streams just because the government can't afford to subsidize their existence is horrible. The second reason I find this alarming is because there are only 58 national parks.
397 if you count historical sites, monuments, and preserves, but who's counting?
Just figured I'd prep you for the usual rebuttal from your stalkers fans.
Here come da devil to tell you that these type of cutbacks are a direct result of shooting our wad (1.5 TRILLION+) in Iraq and the 2002 tax plan.
The space program already was being diminished by that Gassius GOP/Teabagger Group that wanted to shrink government down to thimble size...you know which nitwits I refer to. ::) The "help only yourself" reactionaries never stand up for what's right and good for the country. :-*

He's right, the Dem's never think of themselves first... except to extend said tax plan in 2010 with a super majority. Oops.
