I fail to see the attraction of Vedder without Pearl Jam.

Or outside of a Seattle coffee shop? Haven't you seen Rock Star with Marky Mark?
Dunno....any show at The Brady is worth the look see....
I've known a few performers to go off on their own over the years with a new band, sometimes Tulsa Sound musicians, and they have put together great back up bands....hell, Daltrey's back up band was better than he was...and same for Plant.

Yep.
Kinda smacks of Queensryche without DeGarmo, or Waters without Pink Floyd.

i really enjoyed the 'into the wild' soundtrack. the ukulele stuff isn't my favorite, but i think eddie will still put on a great show. i believe this is the first time he has played in oklahoma since pearl jam played okc in 2003. i don't think he has ever played tulsa. stone gossard played at the cain's with his band brad when they opened for band of horses in 2010. he may be the only member of pearl jam to have played in tulsa. i could be wrong about that, though.
Well, and TTC makes a good point that there are some really solid acts at the Brady. I'm probably being a bit harsh on him mainly due to all the Vedder wannabes like Scott Stapp who came after the success of Pearl Jam. Too much brooding, I suspect ;)
this is the setlist from his show in oakland on 7.12.2011. it looks like, at least at this show, that he does a good mix of pearl jam songs, solo stuff, and covers.
1.Walking The Cow
(Daniel Johnston cover)
2.Can't Keep
(Pearl Jam song)
3.Sleeping By Myself
4.Without You
5.Goodbye
6.Soon Forget
(Pearl Jam song)
7.Long Road
(Pearl Jam song)
8.Sometimes
(Pearl Jam song)
9.Off He Goes
(Pearl Jam song)
10.Just Breathe
(Pearl Jam song)
11.Millworker
(James Taylor cover)
12.Santa Cruz
13.Long Nights
(with Glen Hansard)
14.No Ceiling
15.Guaranteed
16.Unthought Known
(Pearl Jam song)
17.The End
(Pearl Jam song)
18.Better Man
(Pearl Jam song) (w/ Save It For Later snippet)
19.Arc
(Pearl Jam song)
Encore:
20.If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out
(Cat Stevens cover)
21.Parting Ways
(Pearl Jam song)
22.You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
(The Beatles cover)
23.Waiting On A Friend
(with Glen Hansard)
24.Sleepless Nights
(Gram Parsons cover) (with Glen Hansard)
25.Society
(Jerry Hannan cover) (with Glen Hansard)
26.Falling Slowly
(The Swell Season cover) (with Glen Hansard)

Encore 2:

Interesting mix of homage paid on his covers.

Probably has something to do with it being the only song in the Vedder repertoire that almost everyone can sing along to word for word.

What got him expelled was that surprise left...

Yeah, that one left my jaw wide open.

Damn you, I have that song in my head all day now...
"And the boy was something that mommy wouldn't wear".
This, and Plush by Stone Temple Pilots have some of the most bizarre lyrics of mainstream groups. I have to qualify that because I do listen to Zappa. He's not really mainstream though. "Montana" is a good example.
Sorry to derail....back to the topic of Vedder now!
To be a Dental floss tycoon. I love Frank. Saw him twice and the man didnt stop for over two hours.
looks like tulsa gets a second show:

EDDIE VEDDER POSTPONES US SOLO TOUR DATES
04.05.12
http://www.pearljam.com/news/eddie-vedder-postpones-us-tour-dates
Eddie Vedder has announced the postponement of his 15-city U.S. solo tour today due to temporary nerve damage in his right arm, the result of a back injury sustained earlier this year.
Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis explains, "After having worked aggressively with doctors and physical therapists for the last eight weeks to repair the damage, the intensity of the injury and time needed to heal has made it impossible to play the shows as scheduled. There was hope up until the last minute that the treatments would be successful. Sincerest apologies go out to those who have made plans and bought tickets. Eddie is frustrated beyond measure, but remains positive that come this summer all will be back in good form."
All postponed dates will be rescheduled for November and December 2012. Tickets will be honored for rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available upon request through the point-of-purchase. Fan Club members with Ten Club pre-sale ticket will receive an email regarding proper refund procedures today, Thursday April 5th.
Rescheduled dates are as follows:
Special guest Glen Hansard (The Swell Season, The Frames) will join Vedder on the road for these shows.
