The restaurant is at 81st and Sheridan. Head south for miles and mid-towners can find it.
Here is a link to their place...

This place has unbelievable deli sandwiches. I started with the rueben, then the next time I went ordered the jagdwurst. The third time I went I ordered the schnitzel plate. They were all wonderful.
I will get there a little before 11:30 and try to get a place to sit together. I need an idea of who else is coming so I can have a plan for seating.
Who is in?

Me
since guido is offerin' to carry me on this one, I'll see what I've got going on. It's finals week, but I think I'll be done with most things by then.
Sadness. Can't.
On my Calendar.
Afraid Guido and Red will scrob my knob, box my ears, give me a wedgie and make fun of my mama....but I'll try.

I attempted the googles with part of your fear. I found nothing. It did, however, lead me to some sites I dared not spy.
All, please refrain from scrobbing anyone's knob until after we eat.

No, but we will make you and Townsend walk on a parking lot. :D
Just checked Google Maps, there is a sidewalk along Sheridan but you won't need to use it. You can walk away from the Gasthaus to walk on the sidewalk if you feel the need to use it but will have to cross the parking lot again to get inside for lunch. :D
Townie, although it may have a different meaning now, in my grade school days, Scrobbing Your Knob was when someone grabbed you in a headlock and vigorously rubbed their fist in your hair. Back then being gay was a sign of a well adjusted personality. Things change eh?

You're just an old guy, like me.
When a new word is chosen for something with unpopular connotations, eventually that new word too will gain unpopular connotations. Choose any popular politically correct term here. I am not picking on any particular one.
I'm in.

Wholly cow. They took that one too. I was happy when Gay meant....Well happy.
Sounds like we are getting a pretty good crowd. This might get rowdy.
I will notify security, bring some extra dollars for bail, and remember to wear a cup.

It was taken at least 20 years ago. Either that, or I had a really dirty mind.
I'm in, and by the time I was growing up it was "knob 'scobbing'"
Can't though I will be back in Tulsa the next week, just my luck :-P

That's a noogie.
Oddly enough, my vacation starts next Wednesday. I plan to attend.
Got it on the calendar.
Me, too.

Bill Murray was the noogie king on Saturday Night. Noogies, Sc(r)ob Nobbing, may be the same thing. Didn't like any of them.
I see Nate is silent as usual. I'd even buy his lunch if he showed up. TTC can't come, he's just a figment of our imaginations anyhow. ;)

Hey, I'll uninvite myself. Thank you very much. :P
Besides, that stuff is poison!
Can't commit to that date as of yet. Possibly know by early next week. That day is sketchy at best for me to even get out for lunch.
Conan, since you asked, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it out that far next week. I've got to finish up a bunch of stuff for work before I leave town on the 18th. It might happen, it might not. It would be more likely if I'd stop goofing off here.

Actually, Siegi's has better offerings than many other places. FAIK, they aren't putting pink salt in their sausages.

Yeah, sure, I'll believe it when I see it. You can make it, we are so worth it, I even dangled a free lunch in front of you ;)
I know TTAC won't show up because he's so tight, he won't even pay for the gas to show up for a free lunch. You can do better. :P
QuoteActually, Siegi's has better offerings than many other places. FAIK, they aren't putting pink salt in their sausages.
Pink salt is used in cured sausages (salami, peperoni, et al). Siegi's does use pink salt (i've bought some from them) but not in fresh sausages (bratwurst, other fresh sausage)
Bump
Lunch at Siegi's tomorrow.
Can't make it. I have an AT&T installer to arrive between 11 and 1 and I go back to work at 2.
Too bad, I enjoy putting faces with posts.
I will be there. If you haven't met me, look for the petite, good looking guy.
*grumble*
Someone scheduled Terminex to come tomorrow at lunchtime without asking me first.
...and it will be rescheduled. You can expect my not-very-graceful presence. Expect to be offended. ;)

I'm sorry AM, you really need to become more assertive and tell AT&T they are seriously screwing with your social life with their non-punctual schedule. I know how to get ahold of you and speak face-to-face over a beer or bratwurst anyhow, and we should soon, my old friend. You will be missed tomorrow.

I'll be there in my vacation best attire.

I hope so. We've given you plenty of opportunities to state your case in person ;) Oh, and your lunch is comped as promised.
Based on the response, this should be one of our bigger turn-outs. Anyone talk to Grizzle or Angie B to see if they can make it?

I appreciate the offer, but no need to buy my lunch, my clients have been good about paying lately... ;D
I have already looked at the menu and selected my lunch.
http://www.siegis.com/lunchmenu.html
My choice today is appropriately named for the anticipated political discussions...the Hot Triple Decker (hot corned beef, pastrami, melted swiss on rye). It fits my personality of being a corny, full of bull and bull products, cheesy but with a touch of wry.
I assume others will be ordering pork, lots of weiners, and bringing out the wurst in the place.
I bet TulsaNow posters make a great goulash.
I'll have outsiders taking pictures and writing down license tag numbers.... tongue sandwiches for all! :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
I am so curious as to what celebrity may make an appearance at this function. Lindsay Lohan? Dewey? Santa?
Next time!
Quote from: AquaMan on December 14, 2011, 09:47:44 AM

That could be arranged, but he might be confused for our bicycle riding "Santa". I'm not willing to risk it.

It was a good lunch. I particularly enjoyed the stewardesses RM convinced to come entertain us. Not that I think any of you are boring, but..stewardesses.
Turned out to be a good thing custosnox mentioned the tag agency. I had forgotten my license expires this month! :P

Please keep it down. I don't want my wife to find out that I know how to talk to beautiful women (other than her).
The frauliens were wunderbar.

Guido makes everyone think he's just an appellate lawyer and does civil rights stuff, but he's got some serious clout at the DL. That's the last time I drink
before lunch.
Something I ate didn't agree with me at all. Anyone know a good doc?
