Does any one have any idea what is going on near 61st and yale behind Med-X and next to the bank? They have cleared off that lot and have put in a trailer that looks somewhat permanent. Maybe a base for a larger construction project??
The only large construction I know of is the St Francis expansion.

Thanks - that's probably what it's for. I was kind of hoping it might be for the Shoppes at Warren Place that they've been advertising for a few years now...
America Bank & Trust is building a new HQ building.
And now there's:
Road Construction To Begin On South Yale

QuoteThere is a plan to widen a Tulsa road--and it's all about public safety. The widening project will happen on south Yale between 61st and 71st, near Saint. Francis hospital. Channel 8's Kim Jackson explains why it's so important.
cThe county already has heavy equipment on location. But there will be even more on Monday, when crews begin widening the road.
More road construction? That's not what most drivers want to hear about.
"It's kind of annoying but I think it will turn out to be a good thing," said Taylor Malone, who lives nearby.
The goal is to widen Yale, from just four lanes to six.
It's a busy area where there 10,000 that work in this one area, primarily because of 7,000 that work at Saint Francis," said Tulsa County Commissioner Fred Perry.
With that many workers, you can imagine it gets congested. Now think about an ambulance trying to get through.
Ambulances during the rush hour have a difficult time getting to the emergency area of the hospital during rush hour and there is a tremendous amount of traffic there," said Perry.
Saint Francis is building a new trauma emergency center right now--emergency crews will have to get in and out quickly.
To make this project work, the city is providing the materials and the engineering. The county is providing the manpower and equipment.
"It's a great example of collaboration between the city government and county government," said Perry, who says he worked on this project for five years.
The construction should take about 6 months.
It's an 8 story building. A nice addition to the area and the shopping district to the south that.. wait.. never got built.

There's always street work happening for these Government welfare users of tax payer money...Tulsa's largest landowner never really pays for anything you and I pay for....like our neighbors kid's education or street improvements or stop lights every 1/8 mile.
Another 5013c soapbox thread.... ;)
I still remember when it was two lanes from just south of the Warren/Kelly/etc. entrance all the way south on Yale. That hill at 71st was a grumble in the snow and pretty terrifying as a 16 year old learning to drive a four speed even on dry pavement.
I remember when 71st was 2 lane from Sheridan to Lewis...that was only about 17 or so years ago. The widening was a huge controversy because it affected so many homes, and it was very expensive because it traversed one of the hilliest parts of the city.
That square mile of Tulsa has seen a lot of investment with the two 8 story towers at Montereau ($90 million project that is almost finished) and now St Francis' new 10 story tower ($200 million) and the 8 story bank tower ($50 million).

If you drive through that area, you can see where St Francis has already built a new entrance that lines up with what can only be a future intersection with an entrance to Warren place matching up on the other side.

I wondered about that until I read this.

That's how you preface an article that's written as a kiss-up piece.
You then wonder who owed someone something.

The Yale Hill was a LOT more fun before it was "improved".

Just wait until they start widening Yale between 81st & 91st...

I've seen them do a few things up there. Have you seen plans for it?
That's going to be a mess for those neighborhoods.
