Just a heads up in case you missed it.
QuoteMS11-083/KB2588516 - Critical (Vista, W7, 2008, 2008 R2): This may be one of the nastiest bugs we've seen in a long time. Malformed UDP packets sent to a closed port can allow a remote code execution attack. This is a "patch before the day is out" item for sure. 487KB - 1.8MB

Old guy here. Also pretty behind the curve on operating systems. This laptop uses XT so it looks like I'm not affected but my other two 'puters use Vista and 7. This patch is from a reliable, trusted provider? Or should I just rely upon the kindness of strangers and act like I never read this post?
I use Mac personally, but a large percentage of my job is patching and fixing vulnerabilities in Windows.
It's a job that just keeps on givin' and givin' and givin' and .. and... good Lord please MAKE IT STOP
I digress

Get your patches from Windows Update, nowhere else.

This is a window's update. Sorry if I was unclear.
