Title: Government Revenue
Post by: godboko71 on July 26, 2011, 07:32:13 PM
No matter the outcome of the debt deal and there will be an outcome, no way the Republicans will screw there chance for good PR, well Maybe they would, however its doubtful.

Anyway no matter the outcome we need to change how we generate revenue. I think we need a basic two fold system, a sales tax for anything everyone benefits. Everyone being citizens, tourists, and aliens. The other out standard income tax for services only legal citizens or people with work visa's benefit from.

The income tax decreases negating most of the negating impact of the extra sales tax. Because we still have the income tax, the sales tax won't be so large it erodes sales. We would need tax credits for some income brackets, however since our tax base increases that will have a smaller impact on revenue as well.

Thoughts?
