Title: Pitmen Painters (Theatre at the Philbrook)
Post by: jne on July 05, 2011, 01:38:59 PM
Opens this Thursday - plays July 7,9,10,13,14,16
This is a great story and it should be a blast watching actors performing their best Geordie accent.  Did I mention that there is brief nudity and adult language?...

"But what transforms this play is the finely crafted performances by the Theatre Tulsa cast, directed by Vern Stefanic. The actors bring a great deal of life to Hall's sketchily drawn characters, so that even the more didactic, speech-laden scenes have a real sense of excitement and discovery."

"Stefanic's real achievement however lies in eliciting impeccable performances from an outstanding cast. Attention to detail, right down to a credible North of England accent, ensured performances were strong, convincing and engaging"

"Spanning more than thirty years of Tulsa theater-going, I saw my favorite play ever performed by a local theater company yesterday, "The Pitmen Painters."
