Title: Duke TIP
Post by: guido911 on July 02, 2011, 08:13:06 PM
Duke Talent Identification Program. If you ever get the chance to send your middle school aged kid to one of these three week programs held at U of Georgia, U of Kansas, Duke, Texas A&M and the like, take advantage of it. I think there was one other frequent poster that had a child in that program (Swake?). It is a wonderful educational experience and the kids get to see, albeit to a small degree, what college life is like.

I couldn't get their website to work, so here is, gulp, the wiki page:

Yes, my daughter who will be a high school sophomore leaves next week for the University of Georgia. It's her 3rd year doing the summer program and she really loves it.

My soon to be freshman daughter just returned from U. of Georgia (veterinarian science) and leaves for Appalachian State next week (human body or something). She loves the program so much she still has her id cards hanging around her neck. Next year she wants to go back to Georgia and then either A & M or Duke East. Last year was her first year and took the program at U. of Kansas. I am so pleased with this program and her work.

I do miss the mean looking baby avatar.
