The editor of Urban Tulsa wrote a column about his personal experience with the Tulsa Drillers mascot. A few readers commented on his story by taking the other side...
My favorite comment..."Dang dude! How much of an A$$ can you be?"
I can see, sprayed in the face/eyes. But sprayed in the chest by a "high powered" water gun. I mean, was it a 12 gauge? I'm just glad it was the 8 year old and not the 15 year old.
I haven't been to a game, but last year's Hornsby costume was a lot better. I don't like this new one at all...he's "mushy".
And apparently it was a great and lengthy search for the dude in the suit: http://www.examiner.com/tulsa-drillers-in-tulsa/how-the-tulsa-drillers-remade-their-mascot-hornsby
He should sober up.....
"Wipe the sand out of your mangina"
Wow.
Great responses.

I think his mom may have been our journalism teacher in high school.

One of my brothers played hockey with him back in the early 70's.

Actually his mother is a retired nurse. Quite possibly may have been his sister she has taught English in the past IIRC.
DBacks: Steve Kitchell was a part of that hockey crew and Monte Miron might have been as well.

He shot him with water! Do you people have any idea how dangerous that is. Maybe you people should ask the Japanese just how harmless water is, it pretty much destroyed their entire country.
Has the young man been checked out by medical professionals? It's possible he has drowned or is drowning. Drowning is one of the leading causes of water related deaths.

yes, I know steve and his brothet that I remember as yoyo, steve enlow whos parents owned Skateland, the Malichi s that owned Malachi Automotive at 10th and Sheridan, the Hales of Hale Plumbing, McMichaels Concrete, the family of Peoples State Bank, the Miron family of the Oilers then. The family that is the founders of Camilles is from the same era. I have stories from then that I do not share and will not share out of respect for the people involved. I guess that integrity and confidentiality no longer exist.
Go wipe your sons tears dry with this article!
Har!
I think the new Hornsby is an improvement. I normaly don't pay attention to mascots but this guy is talented and funny.

Sorry, a change in my meds led me to ramble on about something not quite related to the original topic of the editor of Urban Tulsa needing to "clean the sand out of his mangina".

Not me. I love water. Water is my friend. And my boys were provided with plenty of powerful waterguns growing up. Waterguns don't hurt people....guys in costumes hurt people.
I do think the writer way over reacted. Hornsby may not have children or has little empathy for them. At the very most his employers need to remind him that a guy in a Bull outfit at a drillers game is designed to attract children.
Mangina. Where would I exactly look for mine?
