The lunch gang from TulsaNow is getting together for our monthly luncheon, this time on June 7th.
We are going to meet at Ike's Chili on Admiral between Yale and Sheridan. The actual address is 5941 E Admiral Pl.
Here is a link to the menu...

Ike's has been around for 100 years and has been featured by everybody from Martha Stewart to an answer to a question on the TV show, "What's my line". Will Rogers ate at Ike's.
The most expensive item on the menu is Chili Cheese Burger with fries for $8.
It is currently owned by Chris Trail, a Tulsa City Councilor. If we persist, he will be our waiter.
I plan to be there around 11:30 and will get us a table for eight. How many can make it?
I'm in.
That's a no. I'm going to be out of the country. :(
I'm still aiming for July for my 30th HS reunion, damn and a bowl of Ikes really sounds good to.

The hickory burger has crack in it, just FYI. I was sort of glad when they closed the location near my office. I was starting to resort to hitting old women over the head and taking their purses in the Warehouse Market parking lot to support my hickory burger habit.
Can't make it....
besides, I already used up my grease allowance for this quarter.
I'm sure you're disappointed. ;)

Gynecologist appointment?
Ouch..
I'll be there. My coucilperson owns this location. I'm not big on sweets, but every time I go with co-workers they rave about the peach cobbler and ice cream. I usually wind up getting the Frito Pie. Loves me some Ikes. I'm in.
Do they have any vegetarian options? ??? ;D

Free crackers. ;)
I think they've got a side salad.

Mmmmm...iceberg lettuce and saltines...
They sell spaghetti. They sell beans. They sell spaghetti and beans.
I bet he would make you a nice salad with cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos, and free crackers.
Tentative yes.
Those of you who haven't been in this area recently (I don't live very far from this) will be surprised at how quickly the CVS went up in the place of the old shopping center.

I think it's been about six eight weeks since I was last there. I've been driving past the new CVS at 21st & Harvard quite a bit and you can see progress almost daily.
Please answer this chili question.
Do you prefer your chili with or without beans?
Ike's serves both. I have used this restaurant for catering for a long time and they usually bring me five gallons of each. Some events, the volunteers really want the beans and then a few months later a group will really prefer without beans chili.
What is your choice?
Without by far
Isn't chili without beans called marinara?

Chili with beans is called "chili with beans".
Chili without beans is called "chili".
Ever put chili with beans on a dog? You know why? It'd have to be called a "chili with beans dog".
Actually, I far prefer something referred to as green chile stew. Only two places I know of that can really rock it: Eske's in Taos and FMC's kitchen.
Unfortunately I'm out now. A client lunch has popped up that I can't reschedule.
Stupid clients.
This lunch is tomorrow. I will be there and plan on getting there early enough to eat all the good crackers.

Unfortunately, I'm out as well; I had the radiator in my car get punctured over the weekend and had to take it in today. They tell me they won't be finished with it before lunch. Unless I can get a loaner car from those morons...
Still in.

Too bad, I managed to save you a Battered Boar Coconut Stout and one of their ales from this weekend's debauchery. Guess I'll just have to give them to Townsend.

When did Ike's EVER sound good?? Well, maybe SOUND good, but taste good??
Well, I guess if Martha Stewart says it's the best, then it must be so.

For my first time at Ike's I'll have to say the food was good, the service was excellent, and the prices were good.
Company was meh. I made the best of it.
Looking forward to the races.
Super friendly server
I had the hickory burger today. Conan convinced me it was too hot to have a bowl of chili. The burger was good, but I should have had the chili. That is the last time I take advice on food from a skinny guy.

I went someplace here and saw Frito Pie on the menu, they served it with lettuce and called it a salad.
