He forgot to turn of the find me feature on his iPhone.
I think his tombstone should say, "Osama bin Laden. Hide and Go Seek Champion 2001-2011.
It was said the burial at sea happened to prevent there being any gravesite.
Just saw that. Anyone else think the quick burial will sprout a new conspiracy for the nutters?
ABC news is reporting his compound was only about 1000 feet from the Pakistani Military Academy. Makes one wonder if he wasn't being shielded or aided by the Pakistani government.

Anyone seen a picture yet ?
There sure was a lot of Sad um when he was caught.
It is almost perfect timing for Obama. Not to close to election time but just far enough away for the sheep(I mean)voters to remember.
No bigger ticket to punch than one 3 other Presidents couldnt get done.
And yes I think one day to get rid of the body is just a little supicious.
The number one terrorist in the World is killed and we are just going to slide him off a ship. No way that should be questioned.
I don't think it's a current pic according to a left wing web site:
MSNBC is saying it's a fake

DUH Conan!
The death photo is being shown around the world on the news. Somebody photoshopped it a few years ago. Morons, thats why you don't google image search that stuff.

And didn't they say "left" eye. If you're gonna do a fake, at least get the details right! Sheesh. And from what I heard the view they do have includes brain matter (sorry for the graphics).
It's real now!

I thought so but wasn't sure.
Leeched this from CNN regarding the photos the WH has received: 3 sets of photos were received.
1. Photos of OBLs body at a hangar after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It's very bloody and gory.
2. Photos from the burial at sea on the USS Carl Vinson. Photos of OBL before the shroud was put on and then wrapped in the shroud.
3. There are photos of the raid itself that include photos of the two dead brothers, one of OBLs dead son (adult adolescent, maybe approx 18 yrs old) and some of the inside scene of the compound.
The official says the challenge is that the picture that includes the most recognizable image of OBLs face – from the hangar in Afghanistan – is so gruesome and mangled its not appropriate for say the front page of the newspaper. On the other hand, this is the one that is most identifiable as him.
A head shot with anything the SEALS carry would make a much bigger mess than either of those pictures. (5.56 or 7.62)
And the mouth would be much more "slack jawed" than either.

Reports now indicate CIA Dir Panetta is saying the photo WILL be released.
He just hasn't specified when.
If you're asking for a link I won't have it. Anderson Cooper reported it to Piers Morgan about six minutes ago. I know that Panetta said he thought it would be released, but the final decision would be made by the White House. Now I'm not sure whether or not they're rehashing old news, but the phraseology he used was clear. WILL BE RELEASED.

The way the government is playing up the gruesomeness of the head wound, I am thinking this SEAL unit was carrying one of these:

Photoshopped from a still of "Black Hawk Down"
Obama decided not to release the photos.
"The risks of release outweigh the benefits," he said. "Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East."
"Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet," he continued. "Osama bin Laden is not a trophy - he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated."
.
Ya I get that. Watching what they did to Nick Berg was bad enough.
Does this change anything ?

The photos released today of the tail section of the blackhawk chopper that went down does not resemble any blackhawk I've ever seen. It does not have the raised tail fin or tail rotor configuration of a blackhawk. This seems to be something new.
Stealth chopper perhaps?

ABC just got done doing a piece that addressed this specifically. And yes, stealth was the word. This is a little concerning now that the Paks have the remnants. They were saying it's covered in a special 'skin' that helps reduce radar signature.
And the Paks are pretty good buddies with the Chinese....
The CIA (or was that CYA) is never happy when they see parts of the U.S. fleet being taken away in ox carts or the scene of the crash being covered up in primitive mid-east/western Asia tapestries.
We may have been setting up for Pakistan all this time.
Now I do not know whose idea this is, but it is freakin ridiculous.
QuoteAs a native American (I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and have a long-term birth certificate to prove it) I suppose I should be outraged. Other self-described native Americans (aka American Indians) are positively seeing red (whoops, make that "angry") today. Their pique is over the code name the U.S. military used for the operation to bag arch-terrorist Osama bin Laden, which was "Geronimo."
Me, I would have been perfectly fine with the code name "Chaim," which happens to be my Hebrew name, as long as the result of the mission was the same. If you agree that this is much ado about nothing, then you'll be delighted to learn that the Senate Indian Affairs Committee will be taking this grievous matter up in a hearing on racist Native American stereotypes. Your tax dollars at work!

Probably because you never hear a code name "Custer" or "Lincoln" or "King" or "Jackson". Always a Native American name for the derogatory bad guy. Or yeah, maybe Chaim. But you notice how 'gracious' he is volunteering his name since he knows it will never be used, because of the uproar it would cause - as in being anti-Semitic.

Oh, you are one of those hating on Native American tribes adopted by some schools as its mascot. Sheesh. Well, when I think of this issue, I think of Utah and Omaha beaches at Normandy where our WWII soldiers bravely charged on under massive NAZI gun and artillery fire which ultimately changed the face of the world.
Like that has anything to do with anything. Misdirection and irrelevance all the way. (No, don't care about mascots. More significant stuff...yeah.)
You then must remember all the Code Talkers - native Americans who fought for this country, even though their children had just been taken from them to be placed in "special schools" on the concentration camps, er, uh, reservations. An abominable policy continuing well after WWII. After the war, it was no longer a policy of "forced" enrollment (see Indian Reorganization Act of 1934), like it was before, but it continued unofficially until the 70s. (Canada continued the forced enrollment until the 70s.) Maybe that's why a group of Sioux filed a class action lawsuit in about 2003 to address these wrongs. I would have thought a philanthropic lawyer would have known this rather than, "Sheesh"!
The goal of these schools was to "beat the Indian out of them". Eliminate all remnants of their culture. Destroy the languages. At the same time their warriors were fighting with honor and bravery FOR the US! Eight Medal of Honor awards - see link below. But that would not impinge onto the KoolAid gang consciousness now, would it? You think they are making an anthill out of a mountain...and even that anthill is too much!
Sheesh is right. But absolutely not for the reason you misuse the term.
So, it is perfectly correct to insult a great warrior by equating him to a mass murderer. In your world. Sad. Very, very sad that you, or anyone else buys into that.

Is Donilan right? Do our values make it okay to shoot Osama in the eye and not waterboard KSM?
For one thing, waterboarding is inconclusive. And secondly, the material rescued from Usama's mansion proves far more valuable than his head shot. Unless Khalid revealed where Osama was (8 years ago!) he gave practically nothing except credibility to Guantanamo for a few breathless moments underwater. He too would have been better off dead rather than prison. The irony is KSM's capture gave us the knowledge to kill the major terrorist on the spot. Can you imagine the circus, the chaos, and the politicization surrounding OBL's captivity?

OK everyone, it's all OK. We've been able to make it official now.
QuoteWASHINGTON, D.C. -- Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe was the first member of Congress to view death photos of Osama bin Laden Wednesday, Inhofe's office said.
Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee and Intel Committee viewed the photos after Inhofe suggested to CIA Director Leon Panetta that the agency make the photos available to members of a secure briefing on May 4, 2011.
"It is an important responsibility as a member of the Senator Armed Services Committee to view these photos and be able to validate his death to the people of the nation," said Inhofe prior to viewing the photos. "By viewing these photos, I can help dispel conspiracy theorists who doubt that Bin Laden is in fact dead."
Second District Congressman Dan Boren also told News On 6 he will view the death photos of Osama bin Laden Wednesday.
The viewings took place at the Central Intelligence Agency headquarters Wednesday.
Bin Laden apparently was hit in the head when he looked out of his bedroom door into the top-floor hallway of his compound as SEALs rushed up a narrow stairwell in his direction, according to former Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette, writing under the pseudonym Mark Owen in "No Easy Day."
Bissonnette says he was directly behind a "point man" going up the stairs in the pitch black hallway. "Less than five steps" from top of the stairs, he heard "suppressed" gunfire: "BOP. BOP." The point man had seen a "man peeking out of the door" on the right side of the hallway.
The author writes that bin Laden ducked back into his bedroom and the SEALs followed, only to find the terrorist crumpled on the floor in a pool of blood with a hole visible on the right side of his head and two women wailing over his body.
Bissonnette says the point man pulled the two women out of the way and shoved them into a corner and he and the other SEALs trained their guns' laser sites on bin Laden's still-twitching body, shooting him several times until he lay motionless. The SEALs later found two weapons stored by the doorway, untouched, the author said.
In the account related by administration officials after the raid in Pakistan, the SEALs shot bin Laden only after he ducked back into the bedroom because they assumed he might be reaching for a weapon.
