I finally took the plunge and got a MacBook Pro today. I've been warned NOT to sync my iPhone with the computer as it will wipe out my iPhone data including music, contacts, etc.
Anyone care to advise me how to sync over to iTunes so I can get my iPhone data on there safely and not clean off my iPhone?
You have to transfer your itunes data off your old machine to your new one.

Hard drive went tits up on the old machine. They are trying to recover the data but it may well be a few more days. What about using something like Mobile Me?
I sync my contacts with Google. There are also tools for transferring music if that is what you need to save.

Yep, music is what I'm down to now.
Once I get the hang of Mac and learn how to better personalize it, I'm sure I will love it, but 20 years of Windows familiarity is killing me right now.

I used Linux enough that the learning curve for me from Windows to Mac is not large. Mac still does some weird things that are Mac exclusive, but it's close enough.

According to the link, it's been replaced by "DeTune" just FYI.
Many thanks for your help!
