I passed through the 51st & Yale area this week and noticed a lot of things going on. There is a new hotel being built on the old Celebration Station space and dirt work is being done on the area fronting Yale (north of the old Carrabba's). I guess this is the long awaited redevelopment of this area. Additionally, a new Thai restaurant opened on the northeast corner of 51st & Yale (I think it used to be a flower shop) and an Asian restaurant opened in the old Steak & Ale building. Hopefully this area is beginning to turn around.
I believe the same people bought the don pablos, celebration station, etc. and own the adjacent hotel. They plan a multi-hotel and restaurant area, but had been waiting on construction to slow down or complete.

That it right. Plan is for 3 hotels and an eventual teardown of the Days Inn.
I work right across the street and have been wondering what they are up to. Haven't been to any of the new restaurants though.
Does anyone have an idea when the on and off ramps will be re-opened on the west side of the I-44 and Yale intersection?
