I'm trying to find some aluminum frames for placing advertisments in. Specifically needing 16" X 38" with plexiglass. Really nothing more than a long picture frame, but having trouble figuring out where to go in town for it. Any suggestions?

Hobby Lobby *might* have them. I had a need last April for something similar to encase a solar panel in, and you can get them in custom sizes (they come in kits of two sides of the frame, and there were quite a few different lengths to use..not sure about 38", but 16" seems common). The frame size I needed was 7" x 14".
EDITED..to add that these did NOT come with the plexiglass...I got that at Lowe's.
I was going to stop in there on the way home, but got lazy. I'll see about checking it out tomorrow.
is this kinda what you want?

no, more like a picture frame, with about a two inch frame.
You want to go to Hobby Lobby and go back to the frame department. They custom make whatever size and have the exact materials you want.
They are pretty cheap too.
Thanks, I am starting to think that is about the only place I can get em.

Yeah, for you probably needs to be custom. The ones I'm referring to are only about 1/2" wide and probably wouldn't serve your purpose very well.
There are some plexiglass places in town too. You could always get the frame and plexi at two different places.
actually, we already have some plexi here, so that's not that big of a deal, though I might have to pick some up from home depot for the project
Have you considered Zeiglers on Lewis?
I have Zeiglers on back up, but they tend to be a bit more on the pricy side
