Spokeo is a new database site that contains a surprising amount of personal information. It returned a wildly optimistic figure for my personal income, but other than that, everything was pretty accurate.
To remove yourself from the database, do a search for your name. Then copy the resulting URL into the privacy page (the link is at the bottom of the search page) and give it a valid email address for confirmation. I'd strongly recommend using a throwaway email address or a spam trap rather than your regular, private email address. They send a confirmation and you'll have to click on it. Also, Spokeo limits the number of deletions per email address. I was able to delete two, but not a third.

They are not that new. They have been around more than four years.
I go there about every six months and check out my family, co-workers and others. The data is sometimes right on, other times completely inaccurate.
And you're not really removing yourself from any database(s)...
all you're doing is adding yourself to Spokeo's don't-show database.
The info is all coming from 3rd party public info.
