Title: In the Raw-Downtown
Post by: hello on December 30, 2010, 08:31:07 AM
Just read the restaurant article in the Tulsa World that states In the Raw is opening a location downtown. Does anyone know where this is supposed to be located? I'm hoping they meant a location besides the BOK center.

so funny, just got done reading the same article and came over here to see if I missed a posting here about it.  I think it would do well in downtown.  Hope someone knows about it . .

My daughter works for them.  I'll see what she knows.

I've heard rumors of several possible new places coming to blue dome but this isn't one of them.

If you spill the beans I'll give you a whole quarter. ;D

I'm thinking either somewhere in Brady or along Boston Ave.  I can't imagine it would be Blue Dome with Yokozuna already there.  I'm hoping for somewhere on Boston or the 5th & Main area.

I keep hearing Yokozuna is pretty underwhelming.  At least from what I've seen of the rolls they are wholesaling out to places like Topeca, I don't think they would pose much competition to ITR.

I was informed it's to take the old Petroleum Club space.

Wasn't that on the top floor of the Petroleum Club Building?

My initial reaction was they would do better as a ground-level business, but actually offering that view of the city with their menu would be pretty damn hip.

That is awesome.  Both of their restaurants will have the two best views in Tulsa.

Hah, now there's a great memory.  When the Petroleum Club caught fire, I drove up to old Full Moon had a few beers and watched the fire from up on the hill.  More like watching the glow of it, but you get my point.  ;)

I love Yokozuna btw, IMO it's the best sushi in Tulsa.  They have the most imaginative rolls I've seen outside of major cities.  You can't beat the atmosphere/view either.

I guess I should try it rather than relying on the malformed opinions of others, that's not usually my m.o.

We enjoy Yokozuna.  Isn't Greg, the (former) sushi chef from ITR now rolling there?
