I'm nearing the end of my shopping for this season and I thought I'd quiz others on some of your favorite stocking stuffer type items (i.e. <$20/item). Both my girls are at the age now where they only want big stuff so it leaves fewer gifts to open. The older one wants money for an architectural trip to Spain this summer, the younger one wanted a TV and some cool shoes.
Pressed for anything smaller as extras I get: "I dunno". I'm having a hard time adjusting to them being adults now at Christmas and not kids anymore. I guess I figure the kids each still need lots of gifts to unwrap as their ideas for gifts become larger and the list gets smaller each year. Same thing with my mother and FMC.
I've already made a raid on Borders for some $9.99 coffee table book close-outs. What are some of your favorite stocking stuffers for the adults and grown kids in your life?
you could always go with giftcards. If they are anything like my kids, starbucks and borders/barnes & noble would really get em excited.
How about a bucket of money.

I was going to say if you hid it up your donkey you could, but not these days.
Custo- yeah gift cards are useful and appreciated, but I guess I still think of them being 10 and 7 and half the stuff they open should be something fuzzy or that I'd enjoy playing with as well ;) My older daughter, the self-proclaimed poor college student, really loves Starbucks. Glad you mentioned it. I can always find a clever way to wrap those as well.
I go to the "As Seen on TV" isle at Walgreens and pick up stuff.
How about some Shamwows?
Gilcrease has really nice beaded bracelets for $10. I also found small wind-up flashlights at Cracker Barrel for $6. Dwelling Spaces has cool Blue Whale decorations fairly cheap that would make a nice stocking stuffer too.
The 9 incher....!!!
For the adults, how about Marshall's beer?!
Gravy!
Also good in a PiƱata.

Steamed tuna? I prefer the sushi variety.

Available for men too.
Brings to mind the old saying of "Blowing smoke up your A** "
My first reaction would probably be the ol, Woo Woo !
gift cards to the movies, quiktrip for gas especially for that "poor college student" or Starbucks is always good. My parents would always give us one large present in our stocking, along with our usual gifts, and then throw in some gift cards for gas, movies, dinner, etc. I was always appreciative.
I did come up with a clever way to deal with the cash request this year for my girls: Picked up some small LED flashlights which are always handy to have, rolled the $$ around the light and wrapped it. As of 30 minutes ago, all my wrapping is finished and all gifts are under the tree. Photos and photo frames are another gift which are universally appreciated and relatively inexpensive.
