A serious upgrade

Good news for the local hotel market. Hyatt is considerably higher-end than IHG's Crowne Plaza brand, and should drive our local market's rates up, which is nothing but good. They will also benefit from the Hyatt national sales organization, which is supposed to be quite good.
The city should work with Hyatt (and Williams) to develop a future plan to reconnect Main from 1st to 3rd. That would go a long way in better connecting Brady to the rest of downtown. The only problem is getting the [now] Hyatt and Williams on board because it affects their buildings.

How exactly would that work? Tear down the hotel and the former Forum building? For what benefit? Just because it might look better on a map doesn't make it a good idea.

You're right, and it's sad. Of all the hotels in Tulsa, this one is perfectly placed to reap the biggest benefit of a DT turnaround. Hopefully, the Hyatt/Kaiser change signals a long term commitment.
One of the things the credit/real estate crash has exposed is how many companies were owning hotels simply to flip them at a later date -- as a real estate investment first and as an actual functioning hotel second or third in priority. I think it's pretty clear that the last couple of owners had something similar in mind.

Not the hotel itself but the meeting rooms on the west side are in Main's alignment. Same for the Forum building. Not saying it will happen but it would help with connectivity downtown.

The Forum is something like half a million square feet of class A office space. It's not just a shuttered mall, it's been completely rebuilt into a very nice building. Thousands of people work in the building.
You want to just take it down so we have better "connectivity". Not to mention all the convention space for the now Hyatt. That would be in no way an improvement for downtown, not even remotely.
