Title: Places to eat on 11th by TU
Post by: SXSW on November 11, 2010, 03:31:54 PM
Is there anywhere you would go eat by TU that is not a chain or fast food?  I miss both the Collective and the coffee shop/sandwich place that was at 12th & Harvard, Saffron I think.  I'm looking for somewhere you could go and then walk to a TU basketball game.

There's a restaurant where the Collective was.  At least there was a month ago.  I had a turkey sandwich and several beers at the bar.

Didn't realize something went in there, how was it?

There was a game so it was pretty busy.  Service was good.  Friendly.

It was a turkey sandwich.  I've had good Turkey sandwiches and I've had bad.  This was somewhere between, closer to the good side.  Fries were good.

Beers were cold.

I'd go back.

Campus Grill is pretty good. Not great, but good. Also, they're part of AAdvantage Dining, so I get AA miles for eating there. ;)

Has Ella's moved yet?

East down 11th there is a wilsons bbq and a "right wing", as well as whatever the collective is called now (campus grill), plus the hurricane hut, and a slew of fast food.

See you there!

Sorry but that Wilson's deserves the "Wilson's" treatment.  It's just not the same in quality as the one on Apache.

Right Wing is good though...well, that's if it hasn't changed since 2000, which was the last time I was there.

Yeah, doesn't sound like a very liberal-friendly place now does it?   :P

Interesting note: FMC and I have a favorite Mexican restaurant we eat at in Midwest City. When they don't have a game on the TV's, they are tuned into Fox.  You don't exactly expect to find Mexicans watching Bill O'Reilly.

You haven't been to LaMansion at 41st/169 then.  They do.  I typically don't go there to watch TV though.
