What are you guys doing for Halloween?
I am going out on Saturday for dinner (early) at Elote's.
They are doing a gluten free menu for us freaky Celiacs ;D
Future Mrs. Conan and I are both avid cyclists. We are going to a couple of parties dressed as Mormon missionaries done up as bicycle racers "Team LDS". Should be a hoot. As well, I'm a groomsman in a wedding Saturday so I've got rehersal and wedding stuff crammed into the weekend.
A group of us are trapeze-ing.
I should say a group of us will be hoisting a few while watching a smaller sub-group trapeze.
All hail those flying through the air with the greatest of ease.
I will be manning the door. Our neighborhood gets inundated with kids from here and all over Tulsa. I have never seen crowds of kids like this.

Big lot size is nice. We get a few neighborhood kids but our area is poor hunting ground compared to higher density additions.

Ahem...slacking a bit? Where's the pics? :D
For the last couple of years I have been able to take a break from this holiday.
All the boys now are at the age that its just not cool. So living on 1&1/4 acre makes it easy to just leave the porch light off and not have to deal with the 5 or 6 children who would actually make the trek up the driveway.
Im sure the lull in their interest will fade as soon as the girlfriends and driving sets in.
Oh the fun I had thru my 20s and 30s with friends and company parties.
I guess I could always pull off a pretty good Hank Hill, yep, yep, uh huh.
it's my year to take the kids door to door. The oldest is going to be doing something with her friends, so I guess that just means I'm that much closer to none of them wanting to go, and one less to have to deal with. Oh, and the middle daughter is in so much trouble that she only gets to go just to see what she is missing out on. Doesn't even get a costume.

Wow, must've been a doozy.

I'll put it this way, by the time it was all said in done, at least half of TPD's division east second shift was on the scene, k-9 had been called in, and they were about to put the helicopters in the air.
Had the annual pumkin carving party Monday. Told everyone I would have pumpkins but some still brought their own so now I have 8 pumpkins left over.
Anyone want some free pumpkins please come and get them off the porch. Send message and I will send you my address. I am right behind the Promenade Mall.
And no, I am not lurking behind the mall in the parking lot. I live in a house just south of the mall lol.
He's the starving artist under the tree petting a pumpkin while repeating "my precious.. my precious..."

Yep, but I'll bet ya she'll remember this punishment more than if she just stayed home, or was grounded for a month (though I think she is going to be grounded for even longer)

I disagree. If she did something to deserve to bring on this punishment, I don't feel sorry for her. The hardest part for some parents is sticking to the punishment. I hate seeing/hearing parents threatening to do something, and then backing down.

I feel bad about it, but she needs to learn that what she pulled was unacceptable.

Actually I wrote that before scrolling down to see how much she had misbehaved.

Try not to feel too badly about this. It is a lesson better learned while she's still at home than on her own.
I teach part-time and I wish more parents would say NO to their kids and teach them to be responsible for their actions instead of bailing them out. It's really annoying!
You're doing the right thing.
