Title: Retirement Home on 31st between Yale and Harvard
Post by: Townsend on October 14, 2010, 01:51:08 PM
I know this was mentioned on another thread but I couldn't find it.

Anyhoo...I noticed after a very long time the site was cleared and leveled recently.  This is the site across from the funeral home on Pittsburgh.

Did they get the money?

What money?

Methodist Manor has been slowly expanding for as long as I have been in Tulsa.
Much like TU..

They have always made the money. Why do you think Warren jumped in with both feet?
The natural progression.... Saint Francis.... The home for the elderly and then...

I was under the impression that money was pulled from the project.

In any case, I drive by there often and am pleased to see some sort of dirt work.

I don't know anything about the monies... But a friend sold them two pieces of property adjacent to their land, for this development, well over a year ago.. The "add-on" looks to be very large.... There is money coming from somewhere.

I saw an ad in the Whirled this morning and thought to check their web site.  It says the new addition is called "Crestwood" and is 70% sold out.

Will be a nice addition to the area.  Will make it feel a little more urban cozy/mid-townish than it does now.

Drove by this place Saturday.

I didn't get any shots of it but it's looking pretty impressive.  It's larger than I thought it would be and the updates to the East look good.

Wish the updates to the TPS building down the street could've looked more like this and less like a Soviet era office building.

I'll try and get a picture of it next time I'm on a Ranch Acres run...

I think that the TPS building should have had a standoff solar shading panels or something, which you saw a lot of in buildings of that era...and it either never got installed, or was later removed....no way would any decent architect send out something that looks like that.  *shivers*

Same goes for that depressing concrete apartment bulding that overlooks Veterans Park at 18th and Boulder.  Yikes.

There were panels over the windows that were removed a few years back.  They were awful and their removal should've improved the appearance.  It did not.
