I heard some people talking in my building a couple days ago about an elevator accident in the Warren Building this week - where one of the cars fell 14 stories and seriously injured a couple of people. I checked around on the net for a story, but found absolutely nothing about it, so I dismissed it as hearsay. Interestingly, I went to a doctor appointment today there and one of the elevators was out of service, with a note stuck to the button. On the ground floor, the doors were open about 6 inches, revealing the elevator shaft and no visible car. Anyone know if something did happen with the elevators? Just curious as I would have expected a media story somewhere... If it did happen, I hope that the occupants are okay.
Elevators look like that on a regular basis.
Not sure if you have seen this video. What do you think ?

Somebody showed me that vid this weekend... I think it's legit. What a crazy/stupid dude.
It's been confirmed. There's another video that shows the impact on the elevator car as it reaches the lower level (basically, you see the car shake and get stuck mid-floor)
If you look in the reflection of the frame, there are people standing behinds this oblivious to what's happening, even after he goes through the doors.
Found the video, with the landing:

One of the commentors on Youtube said he succeeded in winning a Darwin. Not sure if it's true or not. Based on his motor skills and reactions, he looks drunk to me.

The news reports I found were titled that he died (the reports themselves were in korean so can't say if that's what the articles said)
