Title: Hatch chiles?
Post by: rwarn17588 on September 07, 2010, 11:15:20 AM
We're hoping to roast some fresh Hatch chiles in the near future. Are there any local suppliers?

I have seen canned, but not fresh.

My brother brings me some every fall (he lives near Hatch, NM). I will ask him to bring extra if he is coming soon.

I saw some in Reasor's in Jenks a few weeks ago.  I didn't look for chiles the last time I was there.

I got Hatches Friday night at the Reasor's at 18th & Yale, I want to say .99/pound.  FMC has been finding them at Crest in Midwest City.  You might also check Los Americas.  Tis the season!

I have not found a good local supplier for Green Chiles.  Reasors only sells the mildest, called a Big Jim, good for soups but not for burgers.

The Chiles I am selling now are med-hot and have a great flavor, sometimes you get one extra hot mixed in for a pleasant surprise.  If you want come in and try mine and maybe we can work something out and get you some fresh chiles.
