Who is the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs? Is that our tea party local?
QuoteTULSA, Oklahoma -- Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be in Tulsa September 15. Palin will be the featured speaker at the annual Liberty Gala held by the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.
"Governor Palin's message of free market entrepreneurship and individual liberty resonates not only with the core values of OCPA, but with all Oklahomans," said OCPA President Michael Carnuccio.

Countdown to all those who had their privates laughed at by pretty girls to attack Palin in 3...2...1
The council is Oklahoma's version of the Heritage Foundation.

Who We Are
Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA) was founded in 1993 as a public policy research organization focused primarily on state-level issues. OCPA has been part of an emerging, national trend of conservative, state-based think tanks. The founders, led by Dr. David Brown, envisioned an organization that was capable of affecting the state's public policy similar to national level think tanks, such as the Heritage Foundation. Throughout its 16 years of existence, OCPA has conducted research and analysis of public issues in Oklahoma from a perspective of limited government, individual liberty and a free-market economy. OCPA has promoted the conclusions from its research through an array of media that have steadily increased in breadth, scope and ultimately, effectiveness. Today, within the arena of public policy and politics, OCPA is regarded as "the flagship of the conservative movement in Oklahoma."
Mission Statement
OCPA's mission is to accumulate, evaluate, and disseminate public policy ideas and information for Oklahoma consistent with the principles of free enterprise, limited government, and individual initiative.
Vision Statement
Our vision is for OCPA to be recognized as a highly respected independent public policy institute, whose research, analysis, and commentary guides the formation of Oklahoma's public policies and helps Oklahoma to become the leader, specifically within our seven-state region, in all aspects of economic performance and quality of life issues.
What's her speech this time? Strategies for leaving behind state government?

That, or "I was a U.S Vice Presidential candidate that got millions and millions and millions of votes and overwhelmingly won in Oklahoma." I can see how people forget that little factoid on her resume.

Guido, I can understand the interest in former Gov. Palin, but I fail to see where she seriously brings more accumen than current President did to the post. We don't need an empty dress to replace an empty suit. I have no problem with a strong female candidate for President, she's simply not it. She's great at studying and repeating talking points, but I really hear nothing innovative coming out of her mouth. I admire her spunk and courage, but an abbreviated term as governor of Alaska turned Presidential critic isn't the kind of resume which makes her necessarily a good leader.
I think she could be great in a cabinet post and hope she would consider that as better suited to her skill sets. Perhaps Secretary of the Interior.
Good for $arah, getting PAID and keeping all those kids off of welfare.

Translation
"She had an R next to her name on a ballot running against another person who is a minority" in Oklahoma. We also re-elected a drunk so yay us!
Why is it not surprising that the person with the largest crush on her (Gweed) would come to her rescue.
How incredibly predictable.
Still doesn't overshadow the fact that she's an intellectual twit. Can't understand how someone who appears to have some modicum of intelligence (even though I disagree with about 99.0 percent of everything Gweed represents) can actually support someone like this.
Oh, wait, she has .... nevermind.
Looks like we're a major stop on the Conservative carnival circuit Palin's been here twice, Glenn Beck was just here a couple of months back, and Hannity's Freedom Concert is here tonight at the BOK.
Yes. Hannity's Freedom Concert. (https://freedomconcerts.com/)
This state is one of the few they get quite a bit of support in. If you recall the last presidential election, Oklahoma had the largest republican percentage of vote of all 50 states. I think President Obama's share of the vote was under 20%.
That being said I'm not sure why they come here...it's sort of like preaching to the choir. They aren't going to change anyone's mind or anything...just tell them to "reload"...lol.
Once they leave Oklahoma/Texas/Arkansas they realize how much the rest of America knows that they're just a bunch of uneducated wingnuts.

They take in 10 million or so, and dole out 300k a year in donations to troops. They say that they are going to spend the money for scholarships over the next 20 years. But you just kind of hope that the money is still there by then.

I don't care if she runs or not. I wanted to point out that she was a candidate for the second highest office in the land and did receive a mountain of votes.

Guido, she was a running mate, I hesitate to refer to her as a "candidate" for VP. She wasn't selected through the primary process. Yes I know splitting hairs but it's not like we had a choice she was on the ballot.

Hannity is claiming there's over $15mm in a trust from these concerts. Any fund-raising seems like such a scam anymore. The most laughable is Michael Savage still soliciting funds for his "legal fees".

I'd say you just proved my point.
It's been my long experience that anyone who spends an inordinate amount of bandwidth directly attacking others and bragging upon oneself has a great tendency to hold deep-seated fears and insecurities. Truly confident and secure people simply don't do the things you do.
It sounds to me like you might need some professional help. Just suggesting.

Really, tell us all about your "experience". While you are at it, tell us what you do for a living. I want to know what a "confident and secure" person does to earn money so maybe I can avoid getting professional help.
IMO. Mccain missed the boat not having Mary Carey as a running mate.

Palin is a non-candidate, but the one thing I love about her is how she has the strange power to make liberals go apeshit.
What's her name, Garofalo will go on a 20 minute profanity raid at the mention of her name.
She literally represents everything that liberals despise.

no offense Senor rwarn..
I always assumed the "warn" in rwarn was something to do with alerting people. I figured a weatherman or a job where he urges people to use caution.
Well, we can't all make money on the John McCain selection lottery ticket, can we?
