Our next unofficial TulsaNow lunch is tomorrow at a Sub place on Peoria (overlooking and right on the BA Expressway). That is Thursday July 22nd.
Meet there and buy you own food at around noon. I will put two tables together for seating around 11:45 and promise to hang out till 1pm at least.
The place is very, very casual and has the exact same type of sandwiches found at Bill and Ruth's. A foot long is $5.45 and the daily special (Thursday it is a "Belly-Buster" footlong with chips/potato salad and drink is an even $7 with tax. They also sell a large selections of salads from $4.45 to $5.45, chili, spaghetti, and nachos.
This place is pretty convenient to get to, so even if you are not having lunch, stop in for a soda and join in the conversations. One of the reasons I like these infrequent lunchs with you guys is that the opinions and ideas are better than we read here. I guess many are afraid to say what they really want to say in writing (damn the internet).
Stop by and meet everybody. Even the biggest antogonists on this forum have found that breaking bread together makes the discussion better. Put a face with that fake name and everything is better.
I hope you all can make it.
I've looked at that place dozens of times and could never tell if it was in business. Now I know.
While you're there, bring a giant sharpie to mark out the apostrophe in "Mid Town Sub's" on their giant sign.
You can watch when Conan and I arrive there to kiss and make up (but no tongue).
Actually, pencil me down as a maybe ...

I've got a sharpened, jagged Marshall's bottle with your name on it
I hope we get a good turn out, it's been a long time since we had a lunch.
I hadn't been in the place for a year or two, but stopped in today. The owner lady said that she had owned the place for ten years and got it from her brother. I used to eat there when it was owned by a Lebanese guy who I knew from a local poker game.
It ain't fancy. You go to the counter and order and get your own refills on soda. The majority of the customers were getting to go orders and all the others were reading the Urban Tulsa Weekly.
She did keep the place cool. The ceiling fan was moving pretty cold air around so if you are the dainty type like me, wear long pants.
Good stuff. I think I'm actually in for this one.
Can we cross-post to another thread? Or to ALL the threads?

Cross-post away.

If you are new to the forum, we really want to meet you. You can't miss us in this place, we will be the only two tables together in a place that seats about 20.
Stop in and say hello.

My distance from work might preclude me from coming, but I'm going to try. I've only met two of you in person (Conan, TURoby) and would like to meet more.

You're evil. I've been trying not to spend money. :P
I'd love to be there but I'm booked. I've had a business lunch almost every day!
Please talk about me though.
;D
Well, if you guys had decided to do this next week, I'd for sure have been in. Since I have vacation next week, I have to spend the end of this week making sure everything is OK so I brought my lunch to eat in. No can do for me this time guys. I'm sure the majority of you are crushed.
;)
I originally was thinking this was next week. I should consult my calendar more often ;)

See, and I dressed as Silent Bob today.
I'm going to be there. Hopefully I can thaw out a little. You could hang meat in my office right now. :o
I'm hemmed in at the office, I'm out :'(
If you ever have a lunch get together on a Saturday, I would likely be able to attend. It is just to hard to get away from the office during the week. With all the staff cut backs and all.
I hope you had a good turn out and get together.

Thankfully yes, otherwise we would have had to explain it to TPD once the girls basketball team showed up, if not before
