Talented? Sure.
As a drummer? Average. As a showman/drummer? Superb.
I'm just one of those drummers who could not understand the appeal for mega-over-the-top showman drummers.
I'll take this anyday:
My favorite drummer is Kenny Aronoff, who's played with John Mellencamp, John Fogerty and about a bazillion other rock records.
I can generally tell it's him on an album because of his crisp "whipcrack" snare drum, his exciting drum fills, and the fact he anchors a groove so well (which he says is paramount). Just think of Mellencamp's "Paper in Fire."
The good stuff happens about the 3-minute mark:
I've always been impressed by Max Weinberg. Hope he is back on TV with Conan this fall.

Me too. I am a real Joey Jordison from Slipknot fan (I'm into loud and obnoxious rock):
Best drummer ever one one of the best songs ever

I'm channeling him. . .
A load of stick flinging barbarians.
Until you've heard a Micky Heart drum-space live while trying to escape from a locked porta-potty after six hits of Jerry-head, you've never experienced true drumming.
You can literally feel the color of the rhythm. . .it also stains your cloths and skin blue.
