General Haig, though a little less machiavellian than, say, Henry Kissinger or John Foster Dulles, was at least a very skilled communicator. Who can forget such Haigisms such as termalogical inexactitude or epistemologicallywise, careful caution or saddle myself with a statistical fence. As for his diplomatic record, the jury is still out for me.

It's really quite a shame that above all the other accomplishments this great man achieved, he'll likely be remembered for that and not knowing the "command progression" in the executive branch.
