Title: Increase of police presence on area highways
Post by: bugo on February 16, 2010, 12:27:20 AM
I've gone on a few trips in the last couple of weeks, and I have seen far more cops than I normally see.  I've seen them on the Muskogee Turnpike, the Cherokee Turnpike, I-40, and even lowly Oklahoma 2 near Porum.  I've even seen two cops within a mile or so of each other.  What is the reason for this apparent increase in police?  I find it interesting that Tulsa loses a bunch of cops while the state police presence is higher than I've ever seen it.

I've noticed more highway patrol, possibly because there was a noticeable speed increase on some highways once TPD was pulled off of those same highways.
