The most snow I remember while living near Philadelphia, PA was 18" in one day.  My uncle was visiting and had to stay the night.  He went home by car to NJ the next day. Try that in the Tulsa area.

Disclaimer: Philly gets a lot more snow than Tulsa and is better prepared to get rid of it.  Today's snow around Philly is still a doozy.
