On the night of June 9, 2006, investigators claim, three prisoners hanged themselves in their cells at Camp Delta. On that same night Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Hickman watched as three prisoners—very much alive—were transferred by van from Camp Delta to "Camp No," the secret black site just outside the main perimeter. Later he watched the same van return to the prison medical clinic. Then Camp Delta "lit up." Stadium-style flood lights were turned on, and the camp became the scene of frenzied activity, filling with personnel in and out of uniform.
