Title: US as 'Facehugger'
Post by: FOTD on January 19, 2010, 03:54:58 PM

"I've come to the conclusion that the US government most resembles the 'facehugger,' a stage in the life cycle of an alien, the 'primary antagonist' of the film series 'Alien.'

A refresher: Unlike many other recurring enemy extraterrestrial races in science fiction, the aliens are not an intelligent civilization, but predatory creatures with no higher goals than the propagation of their species and the destruction of life that could pose a threat."

Haiti earthquake: US ships blockade coast to thwart exodus to America
A US aircraft carrier is spearheading a blockade of Haiti's waters as America prepares for a mass sea exodus of Haitians with thousands fleeing the devastated capital of Port-au-Prince.

Uh Oh....some of youz guys are gonna find yourselves on POTUS OBAMA's side here....against your inner demons no less.

I believe they have right of passage to come to the U.S., and those boats should help them, not prevent them.  Otherwise would be to transgress their right, in my estimation: even as GRACE reigns over the law.

Um. . . The aircraft carrier was brought to serve as a floating hospital.  It's primary duty is not to block fleeing refugees, however, as is policy we do attempt to abort attempts to swim/float/raft to US shores.  It becomes more of a life saving effort as most of the refugees end up dead before ever reaching Florida 681 miles away.

If we allowed the ill-fated attempts to take place, the libtards, French, and other intellectually challenged groups would claim that we allowed the deaths of thousands by not intervening.

It was sad when Bush was demonized for mismanaged efforts during the hurricane and it is unfortunate when Obama is demonized for his efforts regarding Haiti.  I believe he is doing an excellent job in his reaction to this disaster and, yes some efforts could be better coordinated, but you can't anticipate everything.  There will be mistakes, and there will be actions that will be fodder for the morons to elevate themselves politically.

Some groups base their entire political philosophy on never letting a crisis go to waste.

Major props to Pa. Gov Ed Rendell and his personal effort to get over 50 Haitian orphans to the US.

These children will grow up to be grateful Americans. They will know the likes of hell.

Allow me to expand upon Gaspar's post. The Atlantic ocean can be a treacherous place in a properly-sized and equipped boat. Many of the craft Haitians would be fleeing in are nowhere close to sea-worthy which could create more pandemonium for already stressed rescue efforts. No one wants 1mm people to live in misery without shelter or food but you simply cannot perform a rapid, mass exodus for 1mm without creating more pain and public outrage. How many of you remember the warehousing of Cuban refugees at Ft. Chaffee and the prison-like conditions those people faced?
