Title: City Council--final results
Post by: pmcalk on November 10, 2009, 09:49:30 PM
According to the TulsaCounty website, the final results for the city council races:

Dist. 3:
Roscoe Turner:  1,976
David Patrick:  1,669

District 4:
Maria Barnes:  4,351
Eric Gomez:  3,720

District 6:
Jim Mautino:  2,521
Dennis Troyer:  2,404

Oddly, I heard lots of people say that District 4 would be really close--it really wasn't:  54% vs. 46%--that's a pretty wide margin.  I am surprised about the other two--maybe just me, but I didn't expect Dennis Troyer to lose.

Make up of the council:  Eagleton, Christiansen, Westcott, Trails, Bynum, Barnes, Mautino, Turner, & Henderson.

This should be interesting.

I'll be honest, I sure didn't see D-4 going that way.  I should have sensed something like this after Rocky had such a solid showing in the primary.

Is the margin close enough on Troyer for him to seek a re-count?

Looks like Roscoe got a re-count proof win.  I think that also might have been a near-record D-3 turn-out, could someone check?

The D-3 & 4 races could have been about proportionate enough on their margins that the "Who Owns Tulsa" crowd might have been true to their word on the housing project at Admiral and Yale.

I welcome Maria back to the council, I think she will do fine.  Again this had been a tough choice for me.

today neighborhoods took back their council.  even though voters couldn't see through their partisan blinders and elected a development lobby backed crony for mayor, there are now enough neighborhood oriented councilors to to pretty much can any bullshit.  That patsy trail will be pretty much marginalized.  I see a bleak future for INCOG and TMAPC.  Voters in these districts sent a clear message they are tired of being raped and pillaged by crooked and dispicable developers.

Sayanara Gomerz and Patrick...your service on the council won't be missed.

Christiansen, Barnes, Mautino, Turner, and Henderson....the new gang of five?

Henderson will sale his vote for northside bribes from Dewey and friends just like he did with Taylor and friends.

I doubt it. Overturning a 100-vote margin in a low-turnout election is a big hill to climb.

he needs to retire from politics and make wind mills in his back yard.  he can supply all the wind.
